RF immunity testing requirements can be divided into conducted cable coupling and radiated field coupling.
Conducted
Devices are connected to public networks and to each other via cables for the purpose of their power supply as well as for signal and data exchange. Interference is propagated via these connections. In addition, connected cables act as antennas and signals from radio services are coupled in. The aim of EMC tests is to simulate these interferences and to couple them into the interfaces. For this purpose, methods have been developed whose application requires special networks. AMETEK CTS offers a wide portfolio of coupling networks, generators, amplifiers, accessories and control software.
Radiated
With increasing frequency, as a guideline >80 MHz, the coupling on lines becomes less reproducible and methods for radiated immunity testing have been developed. The classical way is to disturb the DUT with an antenna. Alternatively, methods have been developed for waveguides such as striplines and GTEM cells. In the GHz range, the reverberation chamber offers the possibility to test reproducibly even with complex directional characteristics. AMETEK CTS offers the required hardware and software as well as the necessary competence in the realization of these systems.
AMETEK CTS offers the world’s most comprehensive range of EMC systems for RF immunity testing. The wide range of Teseq branded solutions are capable of performing all types of EMC immunity testing in standard and specialized applications.
